We would like to introduce you to our
2009 Cowgirls!
Hi, I’m Casey. I am married with a four year old son. I have been riding horses since I was eight years old. I have taken many years of lessons and spent many fun summers at horse camps. My family moved to a farm in Piqua, OH when I was 16 years old, that is when I got to own my first horse. I have owned many horses since then and now have three horses and two ponies.
I have been riding drill for four years. I have traveled to many states with my drill team, performing in parades and competitions. I was part of the Cowgirl Express team that went to Texas and won the 2006 National Championship. That was a great experience.
Up until last year I was riding a 22 year old Quarter horse gelding named Buckwheat. It was time for him to retire and I set out to buy a new drill horse. I bought Reno an 11 year old Quarter horse gelding. I am looking forward to having a long and wonderful drill career with Reno.
Hello I am Erin and I have been doing drill team for 4 years. This is my Quarter Horse cross Anni and she is 8 years old. I have been riding for 15 years and one of the founding members of Cowgirl Express. Last year Anni and I traveled to many a place with the Cowgirls, including Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY, PBR in North Carolina, and Three Oaks Rodeo in Michigan. I am a firefighter/paramedic in the Dayton area and I work with Cardiologists as a hospital coordinator. When I am not at Cowgirl Express functions, I love spending time spoiling my nephews Sam and Ben.

Howdy Ya'll! My name is Leia and this is my partner in crime Joker. I have been drilling' for 18 years and riding for 22 years. Joker is a 7 year old Foundation Quarter Horse gelding. I recently retired my 22 yr old QH mare Starfire from a 12 year long drill career, so Joker's got some big shoes to fill. I started with Cowgirl Express in 2006. I am proud to say that I was with the team for our National Championship ride in 2006 at USEDC. WOW! good memories!
Outside Cowgirl Express I enjoy team penning, reining and cutting on my 6 horses and just a wonderful relaxing trail ride every now and then. Outside the farm, my wonderful husband, Pat and I have our own business restoring Packard automobiles and I work part time for a small animal hospital. I am originally from Colorado where I fell in love with drill, both teaching it and riding it, with the Westernaires and found Cowgirl Express a perfect fit when we decided to come east.
I am excited to start a new year and see where it takes us!
GO COWGIRLS!

Hey, I am Annie! I have been riding since I was 3. My family(mom, dad, sister) is big into trail riding. I showed western pleasure here and there growing up and I also showed for a year competitively in college. She is the one who introduced me to the Cowgirl Express and I have been riding with them for 2 years now. My husband Brad and I have 2 horses-Joey (1/2 arab 1/2 quarter cross) and Gunny (registered paint), soon to be 2 dogs-jack russel (Sara) and a black lab (Xavier), and 3 cats. I have previously worked as a farm hand, trail guide, and a camp director for horse camps in KY. I currently work at Iams in the Research and Development dept. I work with dogs all day!! Some you can consider horses!!When I am not riding, my husband and I are working on my taxidermy shop. Yes I said MY shop. If you need anything stuffed let me know!! Cowboys and Angels, Annie
My name is Jesse. I have been riding horses for 20 years, I have been involved in many areas of the horse world including working at world champion reining and pleasure horse facilities, multiple breeding farms, public trail riding facilities, and retraining horses at a racehorse adoption facility.
I have ridden on drill teams for the past 6 years, the past 3 with the Cowgirl Express. I currently own two horses, a bay Thoroughbred gelding named Oli and a black Paint gelding named Sin. When not at the barn, I enjoy spending time with my husband Jake and one-year-old son Tristin, usually watching movies or fixing up our new farm.
To afford my obsession with horses, during the day I work as an analytical chemist/Quality Manager at a company that makes chemicals for the microelectronics and aerospace industry.
Hi! I'm Sydney. I love horses, and all things to do with them. I hope to be a vet. I've been riding since about 2004 when I went for my first trail ride. Now my family owns five horses. Outside of horses, I enjoy reading, taking art classes, being outside, cuddling my cat Joey and playing with my border collie mutt Charlie.
My horse's name is Joe. He's a registered appaloosa who's all heart, full of try, and lots of go! I've been riding him since January 2005, and owned him since October 2005. He's a great horse and blast to gallop. We enjoy lazy western trail rides together, drill (of course!), riding dressage and flying over the occasional jump.
Hey, I'm Sarah, and this is my American Quarter Horse, Tristan. I am in my twenties, and my family owns 5 horses that we stable, care for, ride, and train. I've been riding for over 6 years, I've spent many summers as a volunteer trail guide and horse camp counselor. I just started riding drill in early 2009 with Cowgirl Express, and I love it!
I have been riding Tristan since 2003, and he is also new to drill, but learning fast and keeping up. When not riding with the team, Tristan and I like to spend our time on the trails we used to guide on as well as traveling and exploring new trails. Tristan and I have been through a lot, traveled many places, and he will forever be my trusty steed. We are looking forward to, and enjoying our career with the Cowgirls!
My name in Madison and I’m 16 years old. I've been riding on Cowgirl Express for a whole year now. When not doing drill I work at a trail riding facility and help out with horse camps. My horses name is Chance and he is an eleven year old paint horse. I've been riding for almost five years and have had Chance since October 2007. When I’m not riding horses I like to read and hang out with friends and family.
My name is Brandy and I have been riding drill for four years. My husband Adam, my son Landon, and I just moved into our first home. I have always loved horses but have not always been able to enjoy them as I do now. I have been only been consistently riding horses for about as long as I have been riding drill – and my drill horse Sundance is in the same boat – starting her career with Cowgirl Express at the age of three.
Sundance is an Arab/Spotted Draft cross who loves company, power-walking, and treats – but hates things such as baths, plastic bags, and crinkling paper. I had borrowed Sundance from my husband’s family for the first few years, but now am glad I am able to finally call her my own. She is a very unique horse and loves every minute of time spent drilling.
After taking a break last year in order to have my son, I am much looking forward to being back in the saddle again – (no pun intended) and spending a great season with Cowgirl Express in 2008.
My name is Courtny, and I am 14 years old. This is my first year doing drill. I like to read, listen to music, and play the violin when im not riding horses. I also work at a riding center with my sister, Madison. We have both been riding for 6 years now.
My horses name is Lady and she is a 14 year old paint. Even though this is my first year riding drill, my horse is a pro, she has been running drill for almost 4 years. I have had her since December 2007, but have known and ridden her for about 4 years. She has a lot of get up and go.
